Biographical Info

A sophomore from Gambrills, MD, Ann Marie is a dual-degree studying studying Violin Performance at Peabody and Biology at Homewood. Through her experience caring for her diabetic grandfather, she became interested in medicine and how treatment affects the whole body, not just one issue at a time. However, she is also interested in the intersection of music and medicine, specifically how music therapy can help patients with memory or motor disorders. With her goal of becoming a primary care physician or a pediatrician, Ann Marie performs research in genomics at JHUAPL (specifically sequencing of the influenza virus) and is very involved on-campus. Outside of WPHLS, she is in Club Ultimate Frisbee, SHARE, and Peabody String Sinfonia (which is a small student-run outreach ensemble). A fun fact about her is that she was competitive swimmer for the Naval Academy Aquatic Club for 12 years!
